The information retrieval, information retrieval called in English (IR) is the science of finding information in documents, searching for the same documents, the search for metadata describing documents or, also, the search bases data, either through internet, intranet, for text, images, sounds or other data features such pertinent and relevant.
The recovery of information is an interdisciplinary study. It covers so many disciplines that typically generates a partial knowledge from just one perspective or another. Some of the disciplines involved in these studies include cognitive psychology, information architecture, information design, human behavior towards information, linguistics, semiotics, computer science, library and information science.
